For the past two years Tussen Die Lyne has searched the country for the best young rugby players to make up the Lasher Tools Rugby Squad. With the professional guidance of coaches Ian MacDonald and Louis Koen these two teams went on to win in the UK and New Zealand. This year Tussen Die Lyne is heading for Durban where the College Rovers - one of the big five club rugby teams in Kwazulu Natal - have invited us to share in the trials and tribulations as they select a team for their first national tour of the season.
Every year hundreds of hopefuls flock to Durban to try out for the College Rovers, but through a rigorous and exceptionally strenuous selection process, only 22 will be chosen for the squad. Tussen Die Lyne follows as the chaff is sorted from the wheat, as hearts are broken, dreams are built and 40 young players are pushed to their physical limits.
The show looks at the College Rovers as they prepare for their first national tour of the season. Before coach Robert Dupreez picks his team he will put his players to the test with intensive conditioning and skills testing. The final chosen College Rovers team play intense games against Port Elizebeth's EP Kings as well as tour to Johannesburg to play against the Lions. We also follow them as they play in the Cell C Community Cup and make it right to the end of the Community Cup Finals.
